Rachael and Mitch Stoller's Washington DC Day Trip

While my dad was in town, we took a day trip to Washington DC.  As my dad had visited me before when I was stationed at Andrews AFB, MD, we had already seen many of the "must see" locations.  However, I couldn't figure out the crazy DC roadways enough to go to the US Marine Corps memorial.  This time I found the exit and my dad was able to admire this memorial up close.

Then we stopped at Arlington National Cemetery.  While the cemetery is full of heroes, my dad was most impressed with Auddie Murphy, receipient of TWO Congressional Medals of Honor.

It was good for us to take this time to remember the sacrifices of others.

Kitty Hawk, NC - 7 Aug 04

My dad came out to visit Russ and me. As my dad is a huge history buff, and Russ likes any excuse to fly somewhere, Russ flew us all to Kitty Hawk, North Carolina so we could see where the Wright Brothers began the origins of mechanical flight.

This photo shows the length of the fourth flight the Wright Brothers took that day.
