Surprisingly, I don't have any pictures of my siblings and me with our mom on Mother's Day. I had stopped by my friend Carol May's home on Mother's Day and did manage to remember to take a few photos with my new camera. (Carol May has been like another mother to me through the years.)
Here's Carol with her son Steve, one of my best friends from high school and beyond.
I'm glad I was in Phoenix for Mother's Day this year.

Celebrating Jennifer's Birthday
Usually my sister isn't too keen on celebrating her birthday. To her birthdays are more reminders of getting old rather than a cause for a celebration. But this year she actually looked forward to her birthday party.
Several of us met at Nicole (Behrens) Ferrall's home for a pre-celebration of the night's activities.
From left to right are: Michelle Vale, Erika Vatsar Fail, Jennifer Stoller, Nicole Farrel and me. It's hard to believe I've been friends with Erika and Nicole for 20 years!

Erika always finds the funniest birthday cards. Here's Jennifer cracking up over the "BM" card Erika gave her. (Leave it to a doctor to give a card about maintaining regularity.)
Yes, we've gotten over the fact that we're no longer carded when going to a night club. Nicole and I still had a blast anyway.
Here's to a birthday celebration without tears!

Lexi's Birthday Party
The next stop in my travels was to Phoenix. I was there for my niece Lexi's and my sister Jennifer's birthday parties. Plus I was going to be with my mom for Mother's Day, a rare occasion.
Grandma Bunny (aka my mom) had a pool party for Lexi and invited several of Lexi's friends and families over. So the house and backyard had lots of activities. (Lexi's actual birthday was May 2nd. She turned 11 years old.)

My friend, Anne Laderman, had just returned from living in New Zealand for a couple years. Anne had grown up across the street from my childhood home. Here I am pictured with Anne (middle) and my sister, Jennifer (right).
And here's Lexi with "Auntie" Nicole Farrell, another of my best friends from my teenage years.
